You can request an urgent appointment for the same day or the next working day (Monday to Friday) during our opening hours.
Response time: We aim to respond to urgent appointment requests within 2 to 3 working hours.
How the practice deals with urgent medical problems
- If you have a genuine urgent medical problem, we will aim to see you the same day.same day appointments – if you have a genuine urgent problem, we will see you that day
- Your condition will need to be assessed, so please provide clear details of your symptoms when contacting us.
- You may be asked to speak to a doctor or advanced practitioner before an appointment is offered.
- If, following assessment, your problem is not considered urgent, we will arrange an appropriate alternative appointment.
Important Considerations

- If all urgent appointments have been allocated, you may be directed to alternative services such as NHS 111, a local walk-in centre, or an urgent care centre.

Enhanced Access
You can see a clinician at the practice Monday to Thursday evening 18:30 – 20:00 and a Saturday morning at one of the three PCN sites in the city centre (UVMP, NIMP and City Health Centre).
Home Visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10am.
Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.
